During one of the September 2011 Exchange Club meetings, and at a session
called "I've got a boast" (and you donate $5 for boasting). I stood up and
announced that Century Farm Winery had just learned that we had been awarded
the William O. Beach award for our Traminette at the Wines of The South
Competition. Later a reporter for The Jackson Sun came over and
asked could he come out and do a story. Of course I said "Sure." The next
Monday morning as I was walking back from the mail box with the paper, I
flipped it open to see the front page. Holy Cow! There I was on the front
page with a big front page story and I didn't even have to shoot someone or
get caught with a meth lab. Only a good story about a local winery ...
priceless!

On Sunday, Oct. 23rd, 2011, we had a bus tour group of 50 Norwegians. We
served them a country fare of fried steak w/gravy, chicken & dressing, white
beans, collard greens, fried okra, cornbread and desert was peach cobbler
and pecan pie. Of course there was plenty of wine to sample. It was a good
day for the winery and some of the visitors said it was the best stop on the
tour. Dog gone it-No photos!!
